Greetings:

If you could help save a life, would you? If you knew that donating blood could help save the life of a newborn baby, a cancer patient or an accident victim, would you feel compelled to contribute to this critical cause?

The American Red Cross is dedicated to such lifesaving work that is only made possible by people like us; people who volunteer their time and energies to help organize blood drives. Our efforts enable the Red Cross to ensure the constant replenishment of the blood supply to help save lives.

As a blood donor myself, I ask you to join me in my commitment to support the American Red Cross Blood Drive Program in Englewood. The next blood drive scheduled at the American Red Cross office in Englewood is on Tuesday, July 26, 2005. Each blood donation is critical as it can save up to three lives!

With your support, we will help the program in Englewood grow to save even more lives. I ask that you seriously consider helping the American Red Cross with this blood drive in any way that you can. Whether your support includes volunteering blood donors from your company or signing up to join a leadership committee to organize the drive, your company and its employees are becoming actual lifesavers. Not only will the company with the most blood donors get a free First Aid kit, but each donor will get a free cone from Ben and Jerry’s and a chance to play the Red Cross’s Scratch & Win Game for cool prizes that include one year’s free supply of gas!

For more information and to make an appointment, please visit the American Red Cross’s website at www.pleasegiveblood.org/donate or contact Mary Buska at the Englewood office at 201-882-3748. I will also follow up with volunteers to sign you and your company’s employees up for the drive. Your donation of blood is not only an important way to give back to the community, but it may also help save the life of someone you love.

Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,

MICHAEL J. WILDES
MAYOR
