Opportunities Fair Scheduled To Maximize Possibilities for Englewood/Teaneck Students

 

Are you a Community Based Organization servicing youth? Englewood and Teaneck , NJ high school students need you! The Intern Place (TIP) has collaborated with The FORUM and The ZONE to help students better orchestrate opportunities for the upcoming summer. If you have an academic enrichment program, internship/summer employment, study abroad program or community service project we have a student for you! We are seeking vendors like you to provide information on academic enrichment programs, study abroad opportunities and/or summer internships to over 500 students and counting.

 

The Intern Place Inc. (TIP) in cooperation with The FORUM at Teaneck High School and Dwight Morrow High School 's The ZONE invites all students of Teaneck and Englewood to participate in their debut Opportunities Fair, scheduled to take place on March 28, 2009 from 10AM – 2PM at Teaneck High School located at 100 Elizabeth Avenue , Teaneck , NJ . Often students and parents are perplexed about their summer plans; the Opportunities Fair is the place to be.

 

The Intern Place Inc. (TIP) a Bergen County educational development consulting firm was created as an alternative to help students research and find the college that is right for them and the means to get there! Students l earn how to better connect resources for academic enrichment, navigate themselves to where they wish to go and become empowered to know what to do, what to say and how to pay, says June Smith Bryant, Principal of the firm. “We believe that it is vital to help students learn how to maximize their potential in every aspect specifically as it relates to college and beyond.”

 

The FORUM is a school-based youth services program supported by the Teaneck Board of Education in cooperation with the Teaneck Recreation Department and the New Jersey Department of Human Services. The FORUM is an on-site drop-in center that provides mental health counseling (individual and group), employment counseling and job placement, parent outreach, recreational activities, and a comprehensive referral system for a variety of health and mental health concerns.

 

The ZONE is a collaborative project of Bergen Family Center and Dwight Morrow High School/Academies @ Englewood (DMAE dedicated to providing a comprehensive support system for the students of DMAE. The mission of The ZONE is to serve as an additional resource to students of Dwight Morrow High School and the Englewood Academies in their individual pursuit of academic success.

 

Students will have the opportunity to be recipients of $1,000 scholarships respectively that will be earmarked for college tuition or a summer enrichment opportunity. The cost of admission is $5 for students and all others are $10. Vendor fees are $50 and checks should be made payable to The Intern Place Inc. Space Reservation is on a first come first serve basis; please reserve your spot today! Deadline for payment submission is March 22, 2009.
